After a decade-long hiatus, experimental electronic producer and composer Xian Hawkins returned to his Sybarite moniker with this year's Waver The Absolute. To celebrate the momentous occasion, Sybarite has made a noisier, more experimental companion album of sorts, the mercurial Loose Hold. Comprised of eight new tracks composed in tandem with Waver The Absolute, Loose Hold is a downtempo tapestry of synth meditations, acoustic guitar explorations, and oceanic waves of bell-like tones. Together with Waver The Absolute, it paints an impressively eclectic landscape of where Sybarite has been for the past ten years, and gifts he's brought us from his journey.
