The far-too-long 5-year wait is over! The good music institution that is Pinback have returned with Information Retrieved! This is (honestly, truly) one of the best albums they've ever made, which is saying a lot considering the legendarily consistent quality of their career. Put simply, this thing is filled with stone cold classics! And it's not just us that thinks so: Alternative Press says it's "one of the best summer-transitions-into-fall records that you'll hear in a long, long time." Picking up where they left off on 2011′s acclaimed Little Joy, ‘Wrapped Coast’ is post-punk clatter at its finest, like a slightly deranged bastard spawn of Boredoms and Mission of Burma. The beat has clear nods to late night dance and debauchery, making Factory Floor’s “The Michael Cliffe House Remix” a logical extension of the original. The b-side stretches out, showcasing one of My Disco’s strongest suits: their ability to craft mesmerizing music using space as their secret weapon. The effects are staggering, slightly creepy, and strangely seductive – made all the more so by Justin K Broadrick’s intensely sprawling remix. Back in May, a little morsel of goodness popped up on the Interwebs in the form of an infectiously piece of electronic kraut-pop from an unknown new band called Ultraísta. As it turns out, that band is none other that superproducer extraordinaire Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Beck), Joey Waronker (Beck, Elliott Smith), and Laura Bettinson (FEMME). Their debut album is finally here, and we are not being hyperbolic when we say it lives up to the unbelievably high expectations. Rolling Stone calls it "a krautrock-Afrobeat stew that sounds better each time you notch up the volume." Fans of Radiohead, Thom Yorke, Broadcast, and Stereolab: BUYS UP! 

Hey, since we're making the new Maserati available for pre-order, we may we well offer up the brand new Majeure album as well! Majeure is, of course, the solo guise of Mr. A.E. Paterra of sci-fi prog-rock explorers, Zombi. This is Paterra's second album as Majeure, following the stunning Timespan, released in 2010. This new one, appropriately titled Solar Maximum, expands on the dynamic range of Timespan, and refines the overall ambiance that was hinted at on their epic side-long jam from the Steve Moore/Majeure split LP earlier this year. This one is killer, especially for fans of Zombi, Maserati, John Carpenter, good music, and brilliant album art.
