It's been a while since Explosions In The Sky has been out on the road, having last toured with Nine Inch Nails back in 2013. Since then they have scored three motion pictures, and are taking the majority of this year off to write a brand new record! However, the band will come out of hibernation for a few nights in September when they will support Death Cab For Cutie in New York City, Boston, and Maryland! Seeing as EITS shows are a bit like comets lately, it goes without saying that these should not be missed!

Paul de Jong is best known as the co-founder, cellist and resident found sound savant of the beloved, defunct collage-pop duo, the Books. Five years after that band delivered their final album, The Way Out, to much acclaim, de Jong delivers his first solo album. IF sets the Books' early albums (particularly The Lemon of Pink) as a starting point, and elevates that beguiling sense of wonder and amazement to genuinely transcendent new heights. De Jong's ability to find the musical in the mundane has always been uncanny — it is part of what made the Books so magical – and that gift is what makes IF such a marvelous curiosity, and such a true pleasure to hear.

Herren returns as Prefuse 73 for his first new album in four years! And as if to make up for lost time, he's not just giving us one, but THREE new records! In addition to the stunning new album, Rivington Não Rio, he'll also be dropping two new EPs as part of a triptych of releases. The artwork even fits together to form an eye-poping 36-inch double-sided panorama! The entire package is unbelievably brilliant and beautiful and forthward-thinking; in other words, it's classic Prefuse 73.

The collaborative superpowers of Mark T. Smith (Explosions In The Sky) and Matthew Cooper (Eluvium) have returned less than a year after their debut album, unleashing a proverbial maze of tunes that is literally called Maze of Woods! They have crafted a complex, exhuberant album from an array of instruments and found sounds, with a much greater emphasis on strong vocal accompaniment in each and every song. As if that weren't sweet enough, we've asked a few friends to do some remixes, and have collected said remixes onto a very special, very limited colored vinyl 12" that is exclusively available for bundled purchase with the Maze of Woods colored vinyl.
