We are delighted to introduce the new duo of A.E. Paterra (Zombi, Majeure) and acclaimed UK film composer, Paul Lawler. They're called Contact, and the aptly titled 'First Contact' is their debut release. It explores a similar orbit to Paterra's other endeavors, with Lawler infuses it with heavy doses of drama and melody to give it a sound that blends late 70s Pink Floyd, the nostalgic wonder of early 80s science documentaries, and John Carpenter's legendary 80s sci-fi action films. This vinyl-only release is limited to 1,000 copies – 300 of which are on custom astral green glow-in-the-dark colored vinyl (our first-ever glow-in-the-dark record)!
The legendary MONO have returned with so much ferocity that it had to be split into TWO albums! The Last Dawn and Rays of Darkness find MONO shedding the massive orchestra that had become a trademark of their sound over the past decade in favor of a stripped-down, face-melting combination of vintage shoegaze, experimental metal, ambient pop, and melodic doom. This is the most pure and visceral expression of MONO's music in over a decade, and assuredly some of their strongest work ever. Theses albums ended up on a lot of Best of 2014 lists, with very good reason! If you've ever loved MONO, this is what you wanted from them. If you've never heard them, this is where you start.

Co-founder of pioneering collage-pop duo the Books, Nick Zammuto has emerged as a beautifully brilliant, forward-thinking artist of his own. With the help of some very gifted friends and collaborators, he has returned with his second Zammuto album, the beguiling Anchor. It's quite a bit more melancholy, varied, and emotionally resonant than the first album, and has been getting heaps of praise from the likes of Paste, Stereogum, CMJ, and many more. You can hear and see for yourself, but don't wait too long as we only have a scarce amount of the Special Edition LP in stock. Catch Zammuto's increasingly unique and remarkable live show when they embark on their longest tour ever, beginning this week! ZAMMUTO ON TOUR!
The enigmatic supergroup – whose roster has included members of Thursday, Glassjaw, Converge, and Pianos Become The Teeth – have returned with the long-awaited follow-up to their self-titled 2008 debut – and their first new recordings since 2010’s highly sought-after “Never Mind The Bombings, Here’s Your Six Figures” 7” on Deathwish Inc. Featuring material recorded between the spring of 1981 and the fall of 2016, The Next Four Years picks up where “Never Mind The Bombings” left off, expanding on their already caustic sound with an even greater sense of urgency and aggression. It’s a furious homage to the pioneers of punk, and a scorching critique on the current state of “punk.” It is the most cathartic music of their mysterious career, and unquestionably some of the most vital heavy music released this year. The jaw-dropping super-deluxe box set has already sold out, but the CD is very much available here and at your local record store, and of course the digital version is available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.
